More people than you realize are suffering with the symptoms of Hashimoto’s and not being helped. You can help them!

We came together with the vision of guiding you to support your patients’ recovery. We know it’s possible because we’ve seen this transformation ourselves— with ourselves, our clients and patients, and the clients of those we have trained. We want you to feel the same satisfaction of really making a difference and experience the same level of success that we have.

Why Hashimoto’s?

We know Hashimoto’s can be a tough nut to crack.

Andrea Nakayama , functional nutritionist, co-founder
Hashimoto’s Institute

It took me years to understand and diagnose my own Hashimoto’s. I knew the personal events of my life, pregnancy, and the loss of my husband to a brain tumor within a concentrated time period, had a great impact on my health. Yet nobody was able to untangle the mess and help me to understand the subtle and disturbing shifts happening in my body. Fatigue. Blood sugar swings. Unexplained weight gain, despite a “perfect diet”. It was my own digging, my own detective work, and the cry to help my own mother, who was not getting better on her thyroid medications, that ultimately revealed her diagnosis and ultimately my own. From there I began the tireless quest to uncover reasons and remedies that led to the balance that she and I share today. I disclose these techniques with my own clients, in my collaboration with Dr. Christianson and Dr. Izabella, and want to bring them to you to use in your practice as well!

I lost most of my twenties due to debilitating fatigue. I needed 12-14 hours of sleep to feel fully rested, and when I was awake, I found myself to be dependent on caffeine, tired, yet wired...
I also struggled with irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, joint pain, hair loss and anxiety. I bounced from doctor to doctor and was either told that I was just getting older, or offered antidepressants. When I finally found someone who diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s, I was relieved, but this doctor only recommended levothyroxine, and the medication barely scratched the surface of my symptoms, and did nothing for the progression of the condition. It wasn’t until I decided to take charge of my own health when I discovered the keys to restoring my health, which led me to develop my DIG-AT-IT root cause approach, that has helped me and thousands of others with Hashimoto’s recover.

Dr. Wentz, PharmD, FASCP, clinical pharmacist, co-founder of Hashimoto’s Institute

Collectively we’ve been focusing on this for over 30 years.

We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people through our clinics,
one-on-one client or patient care, our books, our courses, as well those our students have helped, and those who have connected with us online.

Dr. Christianson

Dr. Christianson

I grew up frustrated with my health due to the effects of seizures and cerebral palsy. I know how hard it can be when your body gets in the way of the vision you have for your life. In my residency I identified the most with my patients with thyroid disease. Sometimes people got better when I applied my conventional solutions but often they did not. Most of the alternative solutions were also hit and miss. It seemed like the remedies were so close but always elusive. After spending years reading everything I could find and attending all the trainings that were around, I started developing a new approach that worked more consistently.
I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and work with you on your cases and impart these insights to you so that you can enjoy the rewards of thankful clients.

Working with autoimmunity is the core focus in my functional nutrition clinic. Looking back, I label the loss of my husband to a fatal brain tumor while I was first pregnant with and then caring for our only child as a major Trigger for my own Hashimoto's. Years later, as I started my clinical practice, my body became sluggish in ways I'd never before experienced. I knew a tremendous amount about how to care for myself, but something was off. It took me some time to identify it as Hashimoto's. Working with myself over 18-months to manage the Hashimoto's and get back to my quick-moving, multi-tasking, single-mom plus business-owner self was an enlightening journey. It's a welcome joy to bring my personal and professional experience of Hashimoto's to this practitioner training, marrying my passion for self-healing with my calling as a practitioner educator.

When I first began to work with clients, it wasn’t easy. Sure I had gotten myself better, but each person with Hashimoto’s has their own set of root causes, circumstances, and challenges that make them a unique case. Between each individual’s health history as well as their own level of motivation, it felt like I was unraveling a rare and complicated web with each new client. The work was very time consuming on my end, and left my clients feeling unwell for far too long. I then figured out a system that could easily be tailored to most people, and using this approach, I was able to see improvement in my clients in a shorter amount of time, getting them motivated and on board with creating change in their health.

"It is rare to find someone so knowledgeable, so thorough, so dedicated, and so effective in helping us understand, as she would say, 'what's going on in there.'" Andrea Nakayama is that person. Her gift is to be able to practically teach clients and practitioners alike how to decipher, like Sherlock Holmes, a nutritional riddle that is unique to themselves or the case at hand. If I myself had a nutritional challenge, I would call Andrea."

-Venu R. Julapalli, M.D., Gastroenterologist

"Dr. Izabella, thank you for getting me on the road to recovering my health. I was desperate when I reached out to you. I could barely get out of bed and felt like my life was falling apart. Thanks to our consultations and your guidance, I have now began to work part-time and have the energy to play with my dogs. My weight is improving and I am eating more. You are an angel."

-Susan, Los Angeles, CA

"For years people came to see me for help with their thyroid even though I was miserable from my own thyroid problems. I could never get them all the way better and at the end of each day I had no energy left to think about how to grow my practice enough so I could take a salary. I was afraid to spend on training because I was already overwhelmed and I didn’t have time to learn something new. Once I sat down to it, it was really easy. Mostly I listened to the audio recordings when I was commuting or out for walks. Within the first few months, my own thyroid got better and my patients are doing better. Even though I’m busier than ever, I’m less tired and have more energy for my kids when I get home. "

-Dr. Colette

Why Us?

  • The three of us came together at a networking group in the spring of 2014. In the first conversation, we realized we shared a common purpose; helping people with Hashimoto’s, as well as a natural chemistry.
  • This connection led to the hugely successful public summit, the Hashimoto’s Institute.
  • We had no idea how apt the name ‘Hashimoto’s Institute’ was until we asked our group of 50,000 participants what they needed most now that the summit was over. The top answer by far was that people wanted personalized help from specially trained practitioners. That is why we need your help! We believe that if you can help us reach even just one fourth of the adults in America with Hashimoto’s in the next 5 years, that momentum will create a movement that will transform the care of Hashimoto’s for all people globally in the next 10 years.
  • How would this be possible? The census tells us that as of 2013 there were 242,000,000 adults in America. If 5% know they have thyroid disease, most of which is Hashimoto’s, that’s at least 12 million people. If we want to reach 1/4 of them that’s 3 million people. People are suffering without the appropriate understanding of their condition and without receiving the care and support they need If a successful practitioner works with 1000 people over the span of a year that means that we need to reach just 600 practitioners like you for that initial goal.
  • With your help we can do this and we can start in May!

We ran the math and even without counting our preparation time, our combined hourly rate brings the program to over $47,340. Combined we’ve spent well over $100,000 in thyroid training not even counting our professional education. We would love to share it with you.

We are not aware of any other comprehensive training program focused on Hashimoto’s. Some general health and nutrition training programs are outlined below:

What would be the lifetime value to your practice if you have raving fans each week that loved getting your services and sent in great friends just like themselves?

In a nutritional practice this could mean more referrals, partnerships with doctors, confidence in your practices and of course, income in your pocket.

In medical practice this could mean an extra 150k in the first year alone.
